(i felt it neccesary to make this threat. maybe someone will see it and join in ,then we can really get this site moving again....)
(ic) Logan sat upon his perch amidst the rubble of the old Rebel base. He watched the horizon motionlessly, rifle in his lap, wind in his dark brown hair. His eyes would not dare look down around him. He would not dare look down on the twisted and broken bits of metal, there was so much more demolished here than foundation. Loved ones were lost here, friends old and young alike, all buried in this dismal and macabre pit of death and despair.
But the most horrible death of all laid in Logans very soul. His dreams, his hopes for a better day were dashed. Tosssed to the side like the wedding veil of a bride to be, or perhaps like the veil of a widow. His soul had been smashed, maybe becuase of what he lost...maybe because of who he lost....he had his interests yes..but in this very spot on that horrible day....he lost his soul.
"Corinthia..." he said to himself as he dropped down from his perch and wlaked to a handmade cross that covered a worn grave...Corintha, she was his love, though the two were too headstrong and wild to ever admit it. He lost her that day, when the vampires attacked. He was forbidden to see her, her veing lycan and him being human. But that did not matter to him, he was an outlaw to begin with...and she...well she was somthing so beautiful to him. And now she was gone, the pain inside him tortured him, he could end it right now. A bullet through the head would solve everything, but then he thought to the people he would leave behind. how selfish it would be, how so self centered he would be to do that...how weak he would be to do it.
He shook his head, no he would not do this, not to himself, he would rebuild. Yes....it was a time to rebuild..and to carry on what was lost, to mend what was broken, and to heal what was maimed....yes..he would carry on and rebuild..but would he have to do it alone? was he the only one left...the only human left on this god forsaken island? he prayed he was not.

Alexis climbed her way out of the sewers. She had been hiding in the catacombs under the city since that day that changed everything for the Solar Eagles. Though she had been struggling for survival since then, she looked only as if she had just got out of bed instead of the putrid, damp tunnels she had been living in.
Looking around for a place to find some food, she came upon the ruins of the base. Climbing through the debris, she saw more than a few things that took her back to the few days when she could relax within the building's secure walls. She saw more than a few bodies as well, reminding her of the tragedy that took place and all those lost on both sides. As she climbed, she faintly heard a voice.
"Corinthia..."
She knew she had heard that voice before and started rushing to the source of the sound. Peeking over a heap of concrete and twisted metal, she saw a man she recognized kneeling before a crude grave marker. "Logan!" she said loudly, trying to get his attention. She thought she had been the only one left, though there was always that glimmer of hope.

Logan slowly stood up as he looked to the sky...would there be anyone else out there....he sigh as he kept the butt of his rifle against the ground...his hand on the barrel. He heard the moving of the rubble behind him and slowly picked his rifle up into his hands...listening.
his dark eyes narrowed in a cold and vengeful fashion. He was in no mood to be messed with by lycans or vampires alike. he was in a killing mood, his rfile demanded blood be spilled for the ones he lost. then he heard his name being called.
logan....
He spun immediatly, his rifle at the ready and his eyes forcusing down the barrel of his killing tool, his deadly painters brush, he could paint a pretty death portrait with it. and his rifle was set and primed, aimed right between the eyes of this new comer....
he kept still and stiff as he looked down the barrel of his rfile at this newcomer. his eyes were like that of a madman almost...he wanted to pull the gun down when he saw what he thought was a human, but he couldnt , his instinct to survive told him not too. it could be another trick by those damn bloodsuckers. ;steady logan, steady' he tried to say to himself, but he couldnt as he gritted his teeth and let out a trembling breath....still st iff and tensed, ready to fire at anything.... sorrow is such a cruel taskmaster.

((This is NOT spam, I would just like to say that I am keeping loose tabs on this thread and if we all work together there are definitely beginnings of a nice side-plot here! Also, thanks for remembering Corintha, the ol' gal, okay. Carry on.))

The second the barrel was aimed at Alexis' head, she stopped. Frozen in fear, she tried to say something but it wouldn't get past the lump in her throat. It took all her effort to raise her hands slowly and carefully above her head, trying to show that she meant no harm. "Why are you pointing that at me?" she managed to ask. "I'm on your side, remember?"

Logan kept his eyes on her before slowly lowering the barrel of his rifle...his hands shaking slightly. What was he about to do? the words of his father slowly seeped into his head.
' There are monsters in this world, and there are good men and women...but all it takes is one misstep for that good man, that hero, to become a monster himself.' he slowly backed away , his eyes staring into this new comer. what the hell was this woman doing out in the open like this.
' You should not have come up here. What do you want?" he asked as he finally began to walk towards her , slinging his rifle over his shoulder. It was time to show a sense of confidence, not to let them know what was really going on in your mind.
" Best speak quickly to, soon im sure they will be back again...we need to get to shelter."

As the rifle lowered, Alexis relaxed and climbed over the ledge separating the two. She now stood with the same confidence she normally did, though a moment before she had been rigid from fear. "I came in hopes of finding someone else, and you're someone else. We can probably survive easier if we work together, wouldn't you agree?"
As Logan spoke of shelter, Alexis began surveying the area. There were few buildings nearby that still stood, and those that were intact proably wouldn't be for too long. Turning back the way she came, she said to Logan, "I've been hiding out in the sewers until now. It's not that bad, as long as you don't let the smell get to you, and I know a few places down there that I doubt the vamps or wolves know of."

He listened to Alexis and shook his head. " to hell with sewers i got somthing alittle better." he said as her dropped down to the ledge and pushed away some rubble, there was a metal door...a bunker from the old complex, not destroyed.." Come on down this is a safe place..very well protected unless they figure out how to burrow underground and get through concrete walls...' he said as he opened the door, spraying some deoderizing hunters spray from when the base was up and runnning around the door to mask their scent before walking in.
"Close the door behind you. " he said very sternly as he walked down the steps and flipped the lights, thery dimly lite up and all around the large room was flipped over chairs and tables..a measily kitchen area..and bare cubbards, not much of a strong hold but a descent hiding place.

Alexis began following Logan into the bunker and remarks, "I don't remember this being here. But, then again, I never really looked around too often..." She walked through the doorway and closed it behind them. As she descended the stairs, she took a good look at the inside of the bunker.
A few mangled furnishings were littered about the floor near an old, decrepit set of cupboards, and there was a vaguely kitchen-looking area. She couldn't help but scoff a little at the shape the bunker was in. Kicking one of the chairs slightly, she asks, "So, have you been hiding out here since the attack?"

Logan would not answer, he simply took a seat and began to clean his rifle, a good weapon would last forever if it was properly cared for. He kept his eyes to the ground, simply thinking over the passing events in his mind. His body, unlike from when he first came to this island was now scared from the horrors of this miniature hell..
" I did, i kept to this place, it became more of a prison then a safe haven, scrounging for food and water during the day, hiding during the night. Nothing you could do when you heard the screams and crys for help outside , followed by the laughter or howlingof a kill.....it was very....' Logan thought for a moment before continuing.
" I felt myself become..cold in a way...like the emotion seemed to numb after a while...." he colcluded as he looked up at Alexis , his dark almost black eyes spoke truth to what he said. He was cold, if eyes were a window to the soul, then his was frozen as ice.
' too many people died here...because Zander and I could not save them....we could not stop the hell that was to come..and now i am paying for it with my concionce "

Alexis kept silent for a while. Everything that had happened to Logan on and since that day had changed him into such a cold person. She felt like trying to comfort him, but somehow she felt it wouldn't help much. After a moment, she spoke up. "Well, I guess I can relate a bit. I had to scramble for food and clean water while hiding in the sewers. But I guess I was far enough underground I couldn't hear all of that..." She picked up the same chair she had kicked just a moment before to sit down in it, kicking up a small cloud of dust. Coughing a little, she fanned at the air to push the dust away and sat down, facing Logan.
Trying to sound sympathetic, she said, "Well, if you couldn't do anything to save them, stop beating yourself up about it. It'll only make you feel worse, and that never helps." She sighed and looked around for a fridge, or cooler, or something. She got the feeling that the both of them could use a beer, and was wondering if there were any bottles in this beat-up bunker they could drink.

Logan slowly shook his head as he listened to Alexis.." No ...i cant let it go...not until i feel l am worthy to forgive myself.' he said, slowly picking himself up and slinging the rifle on to his shoulder. he walked to a beat up looking cubbard and pulled out a very dusty and old looking bottle.
'brandy, 1739. Found it on a vamp i took out a while back, apparently he had a taste for fine wine. take a few swigs if you want." he said as he walked past her, seting the bottle down on a neary by table.
"I am going outside, its getting close to sunset, im going to rig a bit and scout, make sure the blood suckers havnt figured out where I am yet." slowly he walked up the stairs before looking back at her.
" If i am not back by sun down....lock the door and what ever you do, do not let anyone in." He said with such authority, he only wanted to make sure she was safe. He could handle himself well enough out there, but he didnt want anyone else getting slaughtered over him. slowly he walked out and shut the door behind him. jumped up a few rocks before climbing onto the largest one in the rubble. his keen eyes scouting the area for anything....(and with that im out the thread).
